Let's back up to when I first got the itch to decorate sweets. My sister, Abby, and I decided to take a cake decorating class last spring where we learned different techniques and tips and tricks to make cute and creative cakes. It was fun, but I wasn't as thrilled as I expected to be. Bummer! Abby and I tried to keep it up after the class ended, but neither of us enjoyed it enough to make it a hobby. And then it hit me! I was not a fan of using buttercream icing. I didn't like making it or decorating with it and cleaning it up was the worst! I tried using cream cheese icing (because who doesn't LOVE that?) but it just doesn't work the same. So that's where my decorating attempts ended… for a little bit.

Now let's time hop to the beginning of this year. I wanted to decorate again! Only this time, I wanted to try using royal icing on sugar cookies. I mean, aren't those perfect little sugar cookies just the cutest things you've ever seen?! It wasn't a pretty sight at first, but I loved it anyway and they tasted delicious. I kept making more and more cookies just to practice with the icing; luckily my friends didn't mind enjoyed eating said cookies. Then I wanted to know how to perfect my icing and that's when I turned to the internet and found all these amazing blogs about everything I ever wanted to know about sugar cookies and royal icing. And I cannot get enough!!
Now I'm here starting my own blog to document and share this passion of mine with all of you! There is sure to be plenty more cookie fun to come in the future, but for now, enjoy these little gems I've made recently!
