I'm back! Didn't you miss me?! My apologies for being so absent, I just have not been able to make myself write anything as of late. And if I did, I thought it was awful and deleted it immediately. But no more of that!
It's been almost a year since this blog started, and it's gone from a little rough and rocky, to better, to basically nonexistent. I really want this to be a space I can come to share my random thoughts or latest adventures. I want y'all to want to come here and read what I have to say, and even if you don't, at least one day I can look back and reminisce on these times in my life. So I'm making a great come back! Just think Britney Spears post 2007.
With all that being said, I also think this space needs a little makeover! Don't get me wrong, this standard blogger template was great to start with, but I'm not in love. And I think if I want to keep coming here on a regular basis I need to love the look and feel of things. So I'm now taking any and all recommendations for blog designs and designers you love! Don't be shy, let me hear what you have to say!
Moving on. It's been a long time since I was here on a regular basis, so I'm thinking we should start from the beginning and play a little catch up!
Me in a nutshell // I'm a 20-something Texas girl through and through. (But I don't mean I ride horses to work or even own a cowboy hat, for all those assuming that's what we Texans do.) I have a wonderful family that means everything to me, and I'm lucky enough to have some of the best friends in the world. (Biased? Of course. Do I care? Nope.) I have one child of the four-legged fury kind, Oliver. He's a spoiled little kitty with a big personality! Take me to a baseball game or brewery and we'll be best friends forever!
Almost a year ago (this week to be exact), the end of a relationship turned my world upside down and caused me to take a huge leap of faith. I made a major change in my life that mostly affected my zip code. I quit my safe, comfortable job as a nurse in Texas and started doing travel nursing. Basically, that means I work in one place for about three months and then move to another place. What better time is there to travel the country (or world if I chose)? So last fall I headed off to Albany, NY with no job, just high hopes, lots of prayers, and a best friend that believed in me and was willing to help me start this new chapter in my life. Luckily the job came quickly and the rest is history. After that, I took my travels to Nashville, TN. I didn't know a single person when I arrived there, but left with some great friends and plenty of fun memories. Now I'm spending my time in Seattle, WA. I've been here about a month and love it so far! Although, this whole west coast time zone is really throwing me off! There are definitely pros and cons to all this moving, but that's a conversation for another time. In the meantime stick around to see what happens next!
